When contemplation beckons with the sweet smell of roasted almonds, Christmas carols wrap us in a festive mood and a cup of spicy mulled wine warms the hands and heart... When the "Glittering Lights & Stall Magic" lays over Radebeul with pleasure.
On the first three weekends of Advent, the historic village green of Altkötzschenbroda is transformed into a magical and romantic Christmas world for the whole family. Fairy tales, stories and Christmas sounds invite you to experience the pre-Christmas season with pleasure and in a family atmosphere.

The first weekend of Advent has a highlight in store when Father Christmas drives up to the church square in his carriage with a sack full of presents and ceremoniously cuts the traditional giant stollen together with Mayor Bert Wendsche.

Ursula von Rätin and Mr Arnold Böswetter have become true cult figures at the "Lichterglanz & Budenzauber" Christmas market and make the puppet show a crowd-puller.

The path of lights transforms the tree-lined avenue of the village green into a softly glowing magical world that points the way to the nativity scene - a place of peace and inner contemplation in the midst of the festive hustle and bustle. In front of the Golden Anchor, the nine-metre-high, illuminated figurine tree welcomes visitors to Christmassy Altkötzschenbroda. It combines Christmas traditions from the Ore Mountains with fairy tales, Sorbian costumes and Chilean art.

Cosy crackling fireplaces exude conviviality, mulled wine warms the hands and minds, the stalls offer the finest craftsmanship and delicious refreshments, the craft and baking stalls work with the children, Mother Hulda snows the village green, Mr Arnold Böswetter sings Christmas carols with the visitors and handmade music creates a festive atmosphere.
The ponies enjoy a ride around the Christmas market, while the adorable alpacas watch the colourful hustle and bustle in their enclosure.
The historic horse carousel has always been a highlight for young visitors. It has been doing its rounds for 100 years now and has made countless children happy.
The large wish list letterbox on the village green can be eagerly filled! All the lovingly designed letters reach Father Christmas who, together with his hard-working post office elves, answers every child personally by Christmas Eve.
It's warm and cosy in the fairytale cellar. In the festively decorated vault, the fairy godmother reads popular fairy tales and whisks you away to a world of heroes, princesses and adventures. At "Lichterglanz & Budenzauber", the Advent season becomes an enjoyable and contemplative Christmas dream in Altkötzschenbroda. Merry Christmas!
