Europe's Way to the Stars takes viewers on an epic journey behind the scenes of the world's most powerful ground-based observatory, providing insights into the science, history, technology and people behind it.

Learn more about the European Southern Observatory in a story of curiosity about the cosmos, of courage and perseverance; a story about observing a universe of mysteries and secrets and about the design, construction and operation of the most powerful ground-based telescope in the world.

The film deals with the fundamental aspects of an astronomical observatory while providing an overview of the field of astronomy: starting with the site survey to find the best place to observe the sky, to the construction of the telescopes and their use as astronomers uncover the mysteries of the universe.

Children up to the age of 18, schoolchildren, trainees, students and severely disabled persons are entitled to a discount.
