Public sky observation at the Radebeul observatory

The Astroclub Radebeul e.V. opens the large telescopes at the observatory every Friday evening for public sky observ ations. At our public sky observations, we show you the fascination of the real starry sky. We explain the current celestial objects and constellations live and show you a wide variety of celestial objects from the moon and planets to star clusters and distant galaxies using our large telescopes.

Please note: Sky observation on our terrace depends on the weather conditions and only takes place when the sky is clear. Please check our weather forecast information beforehand (see below).

In case of bad weather, we offer an alternative programme in the observatory. During a presentation of the virtual starry sky, you will receive interesting information about the currently visible constellations and celestial objects. You will also learn interesting facts about the exhibition in the foyer of the observatory, where you can marvel at various meteorites as well as real moon dust from the Apollo 15 mission. Provided it is not raining, you can also take a look towards Dresden with our large telescopes and admire the night-time view over the Elbe valley.

Details of the objects to be observed on each evening can be found on our homepage.
