Old Pettersson actually has what he needs to live. He lives in a beautiful red house, spends his days chopping wood, doing handicrafts and inventions, fishing and looking after the chickens. But sometimes he feels lonely. The little cat Findus, given to him by neighbour Beda Andersson, is just what he needs. When his cute new flatmate starts to talk, his happiness is perfect - at least almost.
