We are a dream of the ages - A musical journey through Europe to the 16th and 17th centuries

Whether we are asleep or awake, we dream of love, a better world, peace and many other beautiful things. On the other hand, there are nightmares or dark premonitions and prophecies. Dreams are a very individual phenomenon for each person and can turn out very differently. They give us hope and can become more and more colourful with our imagination or slowly fade away. It is not always good in the end when a dream comes true; often the external circumstances or even the dreamers themselves change.

With the programme of their guest performance at the Hoflößnitz, the Capella de la Torre immerses itself in the period of the turn from the Renaissance to the Baroque - on the eve of the Thirty Years' War, so to speak. And so the concert poses the question of the dreams and visions of individual people against the backdrop of relentlessly advancing history. Works by Michael Praetorius, Johann Hermann Schein, Heinrich Schütz, Claudio Monteverdi and others will be performed.

The Capella de la Torre is one of the world's leading ensembles for early modern wind music. The ensemble was founded in 2005 by oboist and shawm specialist Katharina Bäuml. Since then, it has thrilled audiences in countless concerts. In addition, the ensemble has recorded over 30 CDs and a large number of live performances. In this way, the Capella has gained a wealth of experience in the interpretation of music, particularly from the 14th to 17th centuries, over two decades. The ensemble has already been honoured four times with the ECHO/OPUS Klassik award, most recently for the recording »Monteverdi Memories«, which was released in 2022.

Single tickets in advance € 20.00,
on the day of the event from 3 pm € 22.00 and pupils, trainees and students € 10.00

The price includes the opportunity to visit the Saxon Wine Museum on the day of the concert as well as a glass of sparkling wine from the Hoflößnitz or optionally a non-alcoholic drink, which will be served from 1 hour before the concert. All prices include 7 % VAT.

Admission is from 30 minutes before the concert begins.
