Transport development plan (2018)

In view of the impact of increasing motorised private transport and the structural change process in the region, the 1995 master plan was updated and updated. The new transport development plan was subsequently adopted by a majority of the city council on 24 November 2004.

Objectives and tasks of the transport masterplan:

With reference to the local characteristics of Radebeul, the following transport policy tasks are defined, which transport planning must take into account:

  • Increasing the quality of life and living and maintaining attractive living conditions close to the city centre
  • Reducing the harmful effects of traffic, especially by avoiding unacceptable levels of motorised traffic and reducing disruptive through traffic in residential areas
  • Securing regional and supra-regional connections by rail and road, especially for commercial locations as the economic basis for Radebeul's development
  • Maintaining and improving access to the city centre for users of all modes of transport
  • Strengthening connections for the functions of living, supplying, working, education, culture and leisure on short and direct routes for non-motorised private transport and public transport
  • Protecting the landscape and identity of Radebeul and strengthening its tourist function
  • Incorporating the historical character of the various urban areas into the streetscapes, design and layout of the traffic areas, taking into account urban design standards
  • Maintaining the municipality's financial capacity to act through efficient transport facilities
  • Creating an identity for Radebeul's public spaces, which is expressed in the typical local design of streetscapes, historic village centres, district centres, residential areas and town entrances.
