Presentation of the programme at the press conference
Information for the festival weekend and a photo session were on the agenda
The programme highlights of this year's festival weekend were presented at yesterday's press conference.
The musical programme features a colourful mix of many different genres. Both national and international musicians are part of the programme. Special attention was paid to bands with a regional connection and also to young bands to give them a chance to perform.
The touring theatre festival also offers great variety. From clowning to Shakespeare, everything is included, and various dance theatres also showcase their skills. There will also be various hands-on activities where the audience can try their hand at dancing, singing and being creative.
This year's interactive art installation "Exprésate!", which will be set up on the Elbwiese during the weekend, will go up in flames in a furious way on Sunday evening for the Finale Grande. Around 100m³ of palletised wood, 150 wooden poles and 500m of rope will be passed to the flames.
Of course, the wine is not to be missed. Some 35 winegrowers and winegrowing communities will be offering fine wines and the wine god Bacchus will once again do the honours. Together with the wine queen, the wine princesses and Lord Mayor Bert Wendsche, he will lead the opening procession on Friday and give the starting signal for a great weekend of art, music and wine.
