AFICIONADO is a timeless homage to two important musical traditions: flamenco and the Moorish-Andalusian sound culture of Morocco. With compositions specially created by Alaas, AFICIONADO creates a transcultural sound experience in which different styles flow effortlessly and organically into one another. The flamenco palos form the centrepiece of his inspiration and serve as a form of expression that transcends cultural boundaries. A traditional "fandango", for example, can flow seamlessly into a classical "nuba" song from the Andalusian heritage.
