Path of lights
Light trail "Lumos", Christmas cot and figurine tree
Like a gateway to another world, a mystical star tunnel opens up on the Altkötzschenbroda village green and offers access to a magical world of lights. Step inside and simply shed your cares outside, because it's easier to work your magic without a care in the world.
With this year's "Lumos" light trail, Dresden artists Alex Lüder & Maria Kitzing are creating an illuminated fantasy world. The name "Lumos!" is also a magic spell. Let yourself be enchanted by the sparkling magic and your heart and eyes will light up! Time stands still in this contemplative, peaceful place and fairies get lost in the abstract depictions of nature that line the path to the nativity scene. With every step you take, you move further away from everyday life and give your soul space again. And when your heart is warm, you can simply leave your cares behind. The elves will take care of it. Treat yourself and your family to a carefree, magical Christmas...
Once you reach the end of the path of lights, the illuminated nativity scene shines out at you. This romantic depiction of the Christmas story through light sculptures is the creation of the Chilean artist couple Muriel Cornejo and César Olhagaray.
Just like the nine metre high, illuminated figurine tree that welcomes visitors in front of the Golden Anchor in the Christmassy Altkötzschenbroda. It combines Christmas traditions from the Ore Mountains with fairy tales, Sorbian costumes and Chilean art.
Muriel and César are known for their imaginative installations that use our familiar surroundings as a canvas for dreams. Their art transforms streets, trees, squares and meets us where we live. They create new perspectives on the seemingly everyday and make it shine anew in light and wonder. In this way, they enchant Radebeul into a softly glowing Christmas world of peace and inner contemplation in the midst of the festive hustle and bustle.
