Town hall day

Town hall day?
Sit in a fire engine? Flash a car driver? Explore the town hall from top to bottom? All this and much
much more on Town Hall Day! A colourful, exciting hands-on programme awaits visitors of all ages.

My school building
Year 11 pupils from the Lößnitzgymnasium have built architectural models showing how they would imagine a school extension on the Moritz-Garte-Steg opposite the main building on a scale of 1:100. The pupils present their models to visitors and town hall staff and explain their architectural concepts.

We are building a city
Young and old are invited to help build a large fantasy city model. All kinds of materials and objects are available for building, as well as tools and glue. There are no limits to the imagination - the aim is to playfully develop the new city further and further. Urban planners from the urban development office are on hand to offer advice and assistance, give tips and answer questions. Even if the fantasy city looks completely different to the real Radebeul afterwards, the urban planners will consider what suggestions can be found in it for our urban planning.

Places and paths of young people
All children and young people from Radebeul are invited to the Technical Town Hall. They can draw on large city maps which paths they use in the city and where they meet in their free time. How could these places and paths be improved? New places and paths can also be created that do not yet exist but should. The city administration will incorporate the resulting maps into future planning processes.

Bicycle course
Participants can put their cycling skills to the test and learn more about the topic of cycle lanes. In addition, interested parties can try out mobile speed cameras together with the public order office.

Speed dating: training and jobs in administration
In a speed dating event with a difference, the administration will be presenting various job profiles and training opportunities. Not only interesting for school pupils looking for an apprenticeship, but also for those who have already completed their training and are interested in a wide range of fields of activity or curious career changers, we offer a look behind the scenes at the following professions:
- Specialist for media and information services, library and archive departments
- Educational specialist / social worker
- Administrative assistant, public administrator (FH)
- Digitisation / IT
- Building construction and facility management

Public guided tours
The town hall and the Alte Post are not only administrative buildings, but above all houses with history. Our guided tours take visitors on a short foray through the cellar, roof and everything in between and also explain why fruit trees once stood behind the town hall....
Those who prefer to look to the future can join one of the guided tours of the building site on Meißner Straße. Our construction engineers provide information on the current status and are available to answer questions.
