35 years of town twinning
06.10.2023
In the year of the 33rd anniversary of German reunification, Radebeul and St. Ingbert in Saarland are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their German-German town twinning.
After a delegation from Radebeul visited St. Ingbert in June 2023, the St. Ingberters are now making a return visit to Radebeul this weekend.
To mark the occasion, a Douglas fir will be planted together in the Karl May Grove on Saturday. This will be followed by the presentation of the gift from the St. Ingbert delegation. After a guided tour of the Schillerhort, there will be a tour of the Koenig & Bauer company. In this context, a new joint entry in the Golden Book of the city of Radebeul will commemorate the establishment of the town twinning 35 years ago and round off the official part. "It should be emphasised that the economic contacts between the former St. Ingbert company Haaf and the former VEB Planeta Druckmaschinen Radebeul were at the cradle of our partnership," says Radebeul's Lord Mayor Bert Wendsche.
On Sunday, the guests will mainly "enjoy" Radebeul, be it on a vineyard tour at Hoflößnitz, a guided tour of the town or a short excursion to Weinböhla. On Monday, the delegation will return home to the Saarland.
