Federweißerzug
When he sends his dancers forward, the first call of autumn can be heard. Depending on the region, he and his yeast ballet are also known as Sauser, Brauser or Rauscher. Because he is said to sound like the sea when surrounded by glass. Have you already discovered the protagonist of our story?
Of course we're talking about Federweißer! This popular drink heralds the start of the wine season and, together with tarte flambée and colourful leaves, is a popular autumn accessory. Its yeasts dance in the glass like little feathers - you know, yeast ballet, feather and all.
We are now putting the fermentation juice in the limelight and delighting our guests with an exclusive special trip on the Lössnitzgrundbahn railway. Clear the tracks for the Federweißer train! In September, it picks up speed and rolls from Radebeul to Moritzburg (and back). Along the way, you can enjoy tasting different types of Federweißer and learn exciting facts from our presenters. The highlight of the Federweißerzug is the Winzervesper in the traditional inn - with tarte flambée and onion tart, of course. If you like, you can also dance around with the little feathers in the glass...
