Union-Werke, Meißner Straße 1-15
Union-Werke was founded in 1887 in the Radebeul factory district as "Metallplakate-Fabrik und Prägeanstalt Saupe & Busch". From 1898 onwards, in addition to posters, sheet metal packaging of all kinds was also produced, e.g. boxes. The workforce grew rapidly and the factory facilities were expanded almost continuously. After the bankruptcy of the owner Richard Busch (1864-1944), they were taken over by the newly founded Union-Werke GmbH in 1907. Shortly before the First World War, the company briefly became the second largest industrial enterprise in Radebeul with over 1,000 workers and employees. In the 1920s and 1930s, the workforce fluctuated between 400 and 800. The factory included a modern metal printing plant, an enamelling plant and, from around 1890, its own railway connection.....
