Historic village green Fürstenhain

Fürstenhain is an almost landless village to the east of Altkötzschenbroda and one of the 10 original communities of Radebeul. It was established around 1550 on the land of the former electoral outworks. The village comprised 23 plots of land. The resident cottagers worked on leased land in the neighbouring villages and earned their living as craftsmen and traders or as contract winegrowers and day labourers on farms and vineyards in the surrounding area.

In church and school terms, Fürstenhain always belonged to Kötzschenbroda. In addition, a municipal association was formed in 1839 to organise care for the poor, fire-fighting and public safety services. In 1876, Fürstenhain with its then 285 inhabitants was completely absorbed into the municipality of "Kötzschenbroda".
