On the morning of 10 October 2022, Radebeul's twin city of Obukhiv was also shelled as part of massive Russian attacks on regions in Ukraine.
Radebeul's Lord Mayor Bert Wendsche is dismayed by the attacks on the Ukrainian twin city.
"Two civilians were seriously injured and the city's heating plant was damaged. In Obukhiv, air-raid alarms are constantly sounding. Firefighters are dealing with the consequences of the rocket attacks."
reports town twinning officer Helmut Damm after contacting the Obukhiv town council. "Despite the air raids and the fact that the town employees have to constantly descend into the air raid shelter, work continues. The situation in the town remains tense," he adds.
