The Ukrainian lorry had to wait at the border for almost a week before it could make its way to Saxony.

This morning, the loading of the relief supplies could now begin.

A donor from the north of Dresden has provided his fully functional dental practice, which has been temporarily stored on 34 pallets in a warehouse in Ottendorf-Okrilla.

In addition to the practice furniture, dental instruments, two treatment chairs, sterilisation equipment and X-ray technology will be delivered to the twin town of Obukhiv, where the equipment is urgently needed. The aid transport also includes around 70 large bags of warm clothing, blankets, school bags, power banks and torches as well as other donations.

Mayor Bert Wendsche would like to thank the donors and supporters of this campaign. "I hope that these relief supplies will arrive safely in our Ukrainian twin city before Christmas so that we can support the people there."
