The district of Meißen has published the 25th general decree on isolation on its website www.kreis-meissen.de under News - Announcements. This came into force on Monday, 25 April 2022 and is valid up to and including 29 May 2022. The general ruling contains the following significant changes, among others

  • The isolation of contact persons no longer applies. However, contact persons are still required to comply with infection control measures.
  • The isolation of infected persons can regularly be ended after five days, provided that no symptoms have occurred for 48 hours. If symptoms are still present on the fifth day, isolation is extended accordingly until the 48 hours of symptom-free isolation have been reached, but for no longer than ten days.
  • Free testing for infected persons is cancelled.
  • Testing is mandatory before resuming work with vulnerable groups (in care, medical care and integration assistance) if work is commenced between the fifth and tenth day of isolation.
  • Separation continues to take place independently. The times can be calculated using the quarantine calculator.
  • A transitional provision has been added so that the current regulations apply to all persons from the date of entry into force.

The occurrence of symptoms will continue to be taken into account when calculating the isolation period (retroactively for a maximum of two days). The day of testing or the onset of symptoms will continue to be counted as day 0.

The updated quarantine calculator can be found on the website of the district of Meißen www.kreis-meissen.org/15946.html in the FAQ catalogue under point three. The term "quarantine calculator" will continue to be used due to its recognisability and the colloquial use of the word, even though it is
