Secure connections for the time changeover - special timetable between Dresden and the Elbland region

23.03.2019

Summer time starts again next weekend. "Despite the time change, night owls don't have to worry about their connections", emphasises Torsten Roscher, timetable planner at Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO). "All passengers will reach their destinations safely by bus and train during the night from 30 to 31 March." The VVO's regional night bus service will run as usual, in coordination with the night-time Postplatz meetings of Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (DVB AG).

On Sunday night, the clocks are set forward by one hour from 2 am to 3 am. "Because there is no Postplatz meeting at 2.45 a.m., the regional night buses from the Postplatz meeting at 3.45 a.m. will travel to the surrounding area", says Torsten Roscher. "The night bus from Postplatz via Cossebaude and Gauernitz to Meißen therefore departs Dresden at 3.47 a.m. summer time." Night owls from Moritzburg and Radeburg get home from Neustadt station at 1.25 a.m. winter time and 3.55 a.m. summer time.

"In addition, Radebeul and Meißen can be easily reached with the last S-Bahn train from Dresden", explains Torsten Roscher. "The train leaves Dresden at 1.05 am and reaches Meißen-Triebischtal at 1.44 am. The return journey to Dresden departs at 1.51 a.m."

Since 2003, the VVO has financed regional night buses that connect Dresden with Radeburg, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Radeberg, Heidenau and Pirna, Dippoldiswalde, Wilsdruff, Freital and Meißen on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday nights. The lines are linked to the DVB AG trams and buses at important junctions such as Postplatz.
