Award for the 18th Building Owner Prize of the City of Radebeul 2019

The prize is awarded jointly by the Verein für denkmalpflege und neues bauen radebeul e.v. and the city of Radebeul.
It recognises outstanding and typical local building designs or renovations of building projects (commercial, public and residential buildings including particularly successful gardens and open spaces) within the Radebeul urban area.
The building owner prize is awarded in a maximum of three categories (monument preservation and renovation, new construction, garden and open space design). It can also be split in each category. Any natural or legal person is eligible to nominate a project. The prize - consisting of a plaque and a certificate - is awarded to the client.
Proposals can be submitted by 1 July 2019 at the latest (date of receipt), accompanied by informative photos and a brief written justification or a suitably designed poster (no larger than 80 x 60 cm) with the note or title "Proposal for the building owner". the headline "Proposal for the 2019 Builder-Owner Award" to the jury (Verein für denkmalpflege und neues bauen radebeul e.V., c/o Roland Helmich, Wilhelm-Eichler Straße 20, or Radebeul City Council, Technical Town Hall, Pestalozzistraße 6, 01445 Radebeul). Proposals may also include building projects that have not previously been honoured and are being submitted for the second time.
The judgement is based on the following evaluation criteria:
- Urban planning categorisation, taking into account the initial situation, taking into account the scale and appropriate effectiveness in the public space
- Degree of preservation of the historically evolved state, preservation of the historical substance and incorporation of typical local design (elements)
- Realisation of an area-specific use
- Ratio of existing to new use
- Appropriate use of environmentally friendly building materials, building techniques and construction methods as well as use of renewable energies
- Use of plants typical of the landscape and use of materials appropriate to the character of the area and their interplay

- On the part of the city (city council/municipal administration): Ralf Buchert*, Johannes Domasch*, Heike Funke, Olaf Holthaus, Dr Jörg Müller, Gabriele Schirmer*, (deputies: Günther Despang*, Romy Helfrich*, Sixten Menger, Jan Pötschke, Maja Seidel, Wolfgang Zimmermann*).
The jury members marked with * may change after the local elections in the course of the reconstitution of the city council.
The winners will only be announced at the public award ceremony on Friday, 8 November 2019, from 6 p.m. at Sparkasse Radebeul-West (Hermann-Ilgen-Straße 28).

In the period from 26 October to 8 November 2019, visitors to an exhibition of all the proposals received will be given the opportunity to make their own assessment. The results will be announced immediately before the public award ceremony.
In all other respects, the current version of the statutes for the City of Radebeul's Building Owner Award will apply.
