Road construction
The main area of responsibility of the Road Construction Department is to carry out the tasks of the public authority responsible for municipal, district and state roads (lower road construction authority) for investment and maintenance measures (new construction, conversion and expansion, maintenance, renovation, road safety and load-bearing safety of bridge structures).
Other areas of responsibility include the implementation of road designation procedures and the updating of the road inventory, authorisation for the special use of roads, excavations and the construction of property access roads in accordance with the Saxon Road Act.
The seasonal tasks of the public road authority include carrying out and monitoring winter road maintenance and street cleaning.
