Vadossi, Fabrikstraße 4

The businessman Friedrich Karl Lischka began producing biscuits and chocolate bars in Dresden-Plauen in October 1920. Due to increasing demand, he acquired a building in Kötzschenbroda in today's Fabrikstr. 4 in 1924 and opened the Vadossi company here with 40 employees, which made a name for itself primarily with its chocolates. In the 1930s, 500 employees produced around 2,700 tonnes of confectionery per year. Due to a shortage of raw materials and labour, operations almost came to a standstill during the Second World War, but were resumed in June 1945. In 1958, the company was initially partially nationalised, and in 1972 it was finally incorporated into the "Elbflorenz" combine as VEB Süßwarenfabrik V. One of the best-known products to this day is the nut nougat cream "Nudossi".
