The Fernwehpark Oberkotzau "Signs of Fame" is widely known for its unique collection of plaques and signposts from all over the world, which are seen as a peace project that brings people together. This impressive project has now grown, as Radebeul has also been represented in Fernwehpark since 4 October 2023.

Radebeul's ceremonial inclusion in the Fernwehpark took place at 11.00 am, when the Second Mayor of Radebeul, Silvio Kockentiedt, was warmly welcomed by the founder and initiator of the park, Klaus Beer, as well as his wife Erika and the Second Mayor of Oberkotzau, Mr Erich Pöhlmann. A special honour was the presentation of the Radebeul town sign, which now has a permanent place in the Fernwehpark.

However, the day at Fernwehpark was not only characterised by symbolism, but also by many small and large highlights. Klaus Beer, a passionate Karl May fan, personally guided the guests through the park and provided exciting insights behind the scenes. The visitors learnt about the stories and journeys that led the various place names to this special park.

However, Radebeul has even bigger plans, as the town sign is not to remain alone. The vision is to present all of Radebeul's twin towns with their own signs in the Fernwehpark. They are particularly proud of the Karl May Museum, which is regarded as one of Radebeul's urban highlights. In future, this museum is to be presented in the Fernwehpark as a centre of attraction for tourists from all over the world, thus underlining Radebeul's close connection to the world of the famous author Karl May.

The Fernwehpark Oberkotzau "Signs of Fame" is an impressive project dedicated to the promotion of world peace and international understanding. Originally accessible in Hof, the collection was dismantled and put into storage in 2017 before being reopened in neighbouring Oberkotzau in 2018. Since then, the park has worked tirelessly to unite cities from around the world and celebrate their uniqueness.

With the inclusion of Radebeul in the Fernwehpark, the message of international unity and peace will be spread in an even greater way. Radebeul now proudly greets the world from the heart of the Fernwehpark Oberkotzau "Signs of Fame".
