Fête de la musique

13.06.2023

There could hardly be a better way to celebrate the start of summer: every year on 21 June, the day summer begins, the Fête de la musique invites you to numerous cities around the world. Music enthusiasts come together at attractive performance venues to celebrate the summer solstice and welcome the warmest season of the year. The music festival has been delighting people all over the world for over 40 years.

The Fête began in Paris in 1982. The aim was to promote cultural exchange and rapprochement between peoples and to give all citizens access to music. All events are open to the public without admission. The concerts take place in unusual venues, mainly in the open air. The Day of Homemade Music, as the festival is also known in German-speaking countries, aims to build a musical bridge between people.

At the third Fête de la musique in Radebeul, five locations from Radebeul-Ost to Altkötzschenbroda invite you to experience atmospheric sounds from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm. The musical spectrum is broad, ranging from folk music to swing, tango, jazz, chansons, pop, dance, rock and folk. Amateur or professional musicians, regardless of musical genre, solo musicians or choirs - the Fête is open to everyone. The decisive factor is the joy of music.
