Citizen's allowance, now also available online.

To make it even quicker and easier to apply for Citizen's Allowance, the Job Centre has now also made an online version of the Citizen's Allowance application available.
Compared to the previous seven-page paper application and its numerous attachments, the new online application is characterised by a high level of user-friendliness: The application is clearly laid out, relevant information is only requested once and based on previous answers, embedded help texts provide explanations and are easy to understand. The necessary data is requested depending on the individual's life situation. The application data is entered completely online and all necessary supporting documents can be uploaded directly via computer, tablet or smartphone. All personal data is transmitted securely and safely to the job centre. The online application therefore saves time and postage costs.
"This makes it easier for citizens. They can simply call up the online application on the Internet and submit their application conveniently at any time and from any location without having to go to the job centre," says Susann Lenz, head of the job centre.
Users are advised to register with the central "Bund.ID" account and confirm their identity online (https://id.bund.de/de). However, the application also works without additional authentication. In this case, the identity check is then carried out in person at the job centre.
If documents are missing, the job centre will contact you and inform you which documents still need to be submitted. If the application is complete, applicants will receive a notification once it has been processed.
The online application for Citizen's Income is an additional service. The previous application options remain the same. "We will continue to help people who do not have sufficient experience with the internet or computer, or who need advice in advance, in the usual way," emphasises Susann Lenz.
