The opening of the new exhibition will take place on Saturday, 19 November 2022 at 5 p.m. in the Radebeul-Ost library, 1st floor.
The title of this exhibition by Gundula Maria Schmidt from Reichenberg actually already outlines her programme: Her favourite painting motif is the landscape, which can only be approached if you engage with it intensively, adding another thousand observations and moments of contemplation to create inner images from them. You can't paint a landscape, you can't even do it justice photographically, because the sensually perceptible is always more complex than the limitation to the seen and to the flat plane of the canvas or paper. In this respect, the oil paintings and collages shown in the exhibition are intersections of pausing, elaboration and the individual extract of long observation. The process of painting culminates in the moment of depiction. The former remains in the painter's memory, the pictures remain for viewing. You are cordially invited to enter this world.
