Working meeting of the equal opportunities officers of the district of Meißen

22.06.2021

On Monday, 14 June 2021, the first working meeting of the year took place in Meißen with the equal opportunities officers of the district of Meißen. Gabriele Fänder, who has been in office for six months as the district's representative for equality, migration and integration, invited participants to discuss the current situation and future collaboration. The meeting was very well received by the participants.

One of the key points of discussion was the urgent need to appoint an equal opportunities officer as a mandatory task for local authorities. There is a need for action here in almost half of the municipalities in the district. The work of the past year, current topics and projects were discussed. As equal opportunities tasks can only be carried out on a voluntary basis in many municipalities, it is particularly important to obtain information quickly and to intensify the exchange of experiences. In future, face-to-face meetings are therefore planned once a quarter, in addition to online conferences.

Equal opportunities officer Katja Kulisch took part on behalf of the large district towns of Radebeul and Coswig.
