Traffic routing during the Karl May weekend

This year's Karl May Weekend on 10 and 11 July will also require extensive road closures in the town centre and the associated diversions, as well as large-scale stopping restrictions. It is expressly pointed out that the stopping restrictions must be observed for reasons of public safety and order. Please follow the instructions of the city administration staff.
Slight obstructions may already occur two days in advance due to preparatory work.
On Saturday, 10.07.2021 and Sunday, 11.07.2021, driving, parking and stopping on Hauptstraße from the corner of Sidonienstraße to the corner of Eduard-Bilz-Straße is not possible from 07.00 to 20.00 hours. Gellertstraße and Wichernstraße coming from Hauptstraße will be fully closed to through traffic on both weekend days from 07:00 to 22:00. Parking and stopping is prohibited up to the corner of Hölderlinstraße and Rathenaustraße.
Karl-May-Straße will also be closed on 10 July 2021 from 10:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday, 11 July 2021 from 10:00 to 20:00.
Visitors to the event are requested to use the car parks at the Technical Town Hall on Pestalozzistraße and at the Karl May Museum on Schumannstraße. There is only limited parking available in the immediate vicinity. The use of public transport is therefore highly recommended.
