Punch and Judy show postponed

20.05.2021

In view of the (still) too high incidence values to hold a major event and the unclear development of the coming weeks, the Office for Culture of the City of Radebeul as organiser has decided to postpone the 34th Radebeul Punch and Judy Show planned for 19 & 20 June until late summer. Thenew date is 11 and 12 September 2021.

Originally, the traditional puppet theatre festival was to take place in June, as in previous years. However, the past few weeks have shown that it is not possible to reliably plan the event. The legal restrictions and hygiene requirements currently make it impossible to hold the Punch and Judy show in its characteristic format of an open and colourful family festival.

Last year, Kasper and Co. left their usual venues and returned to the roots of the festival - to the streets and backyards of Radebeul.

This year, too, the Punch and Judy show is going outdoors. Between Radebeul's Kultur-Bahnhof and Hauptstraße, puppeteers from all over Germany invite audiences young and old to enjoy humorous and exciting productions and take them into a world full of fairy tales and fantasy. From traditional marionette theatre to puppet theatre, the whole range of puppetry is presented.

Away from the stage, there is plenty for children to experience and discover. A merry-go-round does its rounds, children can romp around on the movement construction site and the Outlaw fire brigade invites you to take a ride in a real fire engine.
