Caravan of joie de vivre

On 24 and 25 July, the "Caravan of joie de vivre" will travel through the Lößnitz city as a mobile street festival and radiate pure joie de vivre. At five locations, musicians, acrobats, dancers and artists will create a cheerful atmosphere and invite you to leave everyday life behind for a few hours.

On both days, the parade stops at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in two district centres and the artists present their skills in short theatrical shows. The caravan will be led by the Balkan brass band Fanfara Kalashnikov. The international brass band will delight its audience with its unmistakable Balkan-Orient style and fast tempo. With stylistic diversity and exuberant virtuosity, the brass band embarks on a musical journey around the world and gets the audience dancing. Tanzstudio MuNo captivates the audience with a mixture of traditional and modern dance styles, while stilt walkers from lofty heights provide an eye-catcher and good humour. Theatre Irrwisch (Austria) are acrobats on stilts and poets at heart. With the unmistakable flair of the seventies, the comic heroes in their too-tight bell bottoms conjure up stunned and happy laughter on the faces of their audience.

Clown Dado (Canada) wins over the audience with wit and charm. As a likeable, hunchbacked uncle, the silent clown delights the audience with his unrivalled situation comedy and captures the hearts of the audience with the smallest of emotions and bizarre paraphernalia, e.g. rubber glove bagpipes.

Before and after the caravan, bands and musicians entertain the strollers with small street concerts. Various associations and initiatives enrich the programme with their contributions at the individual locations.

The highlight of Saturday is a night caravan of joie de vivre through Altkötzschenbroda at 10.00 pm. The village green is artistically illuminated in dreamlike light paintings by light artist Claudia Reh. The illuminated house facades lend Altkötzschenbroda a unique glamour and invite your thoughts to wander. Fire artists from Circus Nachtschatten enchant strollers with their flames, spherical sounds and tricky artistry, while the band Fanfara Kalashnikov sends visitors into ecstasy with their speed brass.

The "Karawane der Lebenslust" is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) with funds from NEUSTART KULTUR as part of the Kultursommer 2021 programme.

From June to September, the Radebeul Summer of Culture 2021 offers a diverse programme of street theatre, concerts, exhibitions, workshops and performances. Artists will enliven streets and squares, gardens and courtyards and provide unforgettable moments of cultural enjoyment.

Road closures

Due to the Karawane der Lebenslust, it will not be possible to drive on the entire village green in Altkötzschenbroda on Saturday, 24 July 2021, from 8 p.m. to midnight.
