More trains, suburban trains, trams and buses on the road from 4 May

30.04.2020

From Monday 4 May, the transport companies in the Upper Elbe Transport Association (VVO) will be increasing their services. As part of the general easing of restrictions, more lines will return to their scheduled services in order to offer passengers sufficient space.

Changes at DB Regio and Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn

The S-Bahn line S 1 will run as scheduled again from Monday. There will once again be four trains between Meißen and Pirna during peak times, and S-Bahn trains to Bad Schandau will run every 30 minutes. Trains on the S 3 line are also running more frequently again: between Dresden and Tharandt, up to three S-Bahn trains are running every hour, with trains only continuing to be cancelled on the Tharandt - Freiberg section. On the important routes to western Saxony and Bavaria, the regional express RE 3 Dresden - Hof will be running again from Monday, and the RB 30 Dresden - Zwickau will also be running hourly again. Capacity on the RB 34 Dresden - Kamenz will be increased during rush hour from Monday: two railcars will be in operation again.

Changes to ferries and leisure services

From 1 May, the ferry in Coswig will be crossing daily according to the summer timetable. The ferry in Diesbar-Seußlitz, the narrow-gauge railways, the regional night buses and the leisure lines in the Elbland and Lusatia regions will remain out of service for the time being. The Dresden mountain railways and the Elbe ferries in the state capital and in Saxon Switzerland will continue to operate according to the winter timetable.
