Completion of the Schumannstrasse/Karl-May-Strasse road construction project

Schumannstraße/Karl-May-Straße was opened to traffic on 1 July 2020. The company Heinrich Lauber from Coswig has been renewing combined sewers and drinking water pipes in both streets since September 2019 on behalf of WAB R+C GmbH. In addition to the sewer construction work, the city of Radebeul also renewed the damaged carriageways, pavements and road drainage. The transition from the Karl May Grove to the Karl May Museum was redesigned.
The city's share of the construction work totalled around € 350,000.
In addition to the city's own funds, grants were obtained from the Federal Republic of Germany and the Free State of Saxony through the federal and state programme "Urban Renewal" to finance the transition at Karl May Grove.
