Bird shooting is a traditional shooting competition in which the aim is to shoot a wooden bird on a high pole with a crossbow. The organisers of such an event must bear in mind that the crossbow is an object equivalent to a firearm.
The crossbow is therefore also subject to the provisions of the Weapons Act and requires a licence. The same applies to the operation of so-called shooting galleries at markets or similar.
