The company Albin Lasch & Co. from Dresden-Kaditz, originally a factory for shop fittings, had also been repairing scales from the USA since 1911. This department was spun off in 1920. The Sächsische Präzisionswaagenfabrik GmbH Dresden was founded under the management of engineer Wilhelm Richard Lehmann. With the development of its own 1 kg and 5 kg inclination scales, the company moved into its own production facilities in Radebeul in Gartenstr. 64 in April 1927, now as "Dresdner Waagenbaugesellschaft mbH". Under Lehmann's management, the range of fast precision and fully automatic large scales was expanded and soon had a good reputation in Germany. Testing and counting machines were also manufactured.
