African swine fever (ASF) in the district of Meißen - restricted zones

02.11.2021

Due to a case of ASF in a wild boar near Radeburg, the State Directorate of Saxony (LDS) has issued a general ruling establishing a restricted zone II (endangered area) around the new case. With the entry into force of a further general ruling, parts of the district of Meißen are also in restricted zone I (buffer zone).

The endangered area in the district of Meißen includes the municipalities of Ebersbach, Lampertswalde (with the districts of Lampertswalde, Mühlbach, Quersa and Schönborn), Moritzburg, Schönfeld, the town of Coswig east of the Elbe, the town of Radeburg, Thiendorf and Weinböhla east of the Elbe. The official announcement can be found on the LDS website: https://www.lds.sachsen.de/bekanntmachung/?ID=18166&art_param=810. The general ruling on the buffer zone is published at https://www.lds.sachsen.de/bekanntmachung/?ID=18164&art_param=810. The buffer zone surrounds the endangered area.

The two general rulings are aimed at hunters, pig farmers, traders and processors, among others, with orders to contain and control the animal disease. For the general public, dogs must be kept on a lead in exclusion zone II with immediate effect.
