Roadway repairs in sections on Wasastrasse and Serkowitzer Strasse

Over the next two weeks, the city of Radebeul will be carrying out surface re-treatments (OBN) on two sections of road.

From Monday, 2 September 2024 to Friday, 6 September 2024, the section between Oststraße and Serkowitzer Straße will be repaired on Wasastraße.

On Serkowitzer Straße, the section between Brunnenplatz and Friedhofstraße will be repaired from Monday, 9 September to Friday, 13 September 2024.

During the asphalt surface renovation, the cracks in the existing asphalt carriageway will be sealed by applying a bitumen emulsion and then chipping the surfaces.

This is intended to prevent weather-related pothole formation (frost cracking).

With this method, surface unevenness can only be levelled to a limited extent. For this reason, a residual amount of loose chippings will remain on the carriageway after the work has been completed, which will be "driven into" depressions by the flowing traffic. In the event of prolonged dry weather, the possibility of dust formation cannot be ruled out.

The work is being carried out by the company Straßenbau K. Riemer Inh. Jan Hausdorf from Großenhain.

The work will be carried out under full road closure, whereby access to neighbouring properties is guaranteed at all times.
