Start of construction of cycle path near Wackerbarth

The current condition of the cycle/walking path on Meißner Straße between Wackerbarthstraße and Mittlere Bergstraße is in a desolate state and requires renewal. The corresponding construction work will begin on 27 November 2023 and is expected to be completed in January 2024. The cycle/walking path will be reconstructed with a new water-permeable Saxon road surface and the surface drainage will be improved. A temporary footpath will be installed along Meißner Straße to allow pedestrians to pass the construction site. Due to the construction work, there may be temporary closures of Mittlerer Bergstraße in this area. Teichmann Bau GmbH from Wilsdruff has been commissioned to carry out the construction work at a cost of around €85,000. The measure is being co-financed with tax revenue on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament.
