Tillmann Prüfer - Fatherhood - Why we need new fathers more than ever
A lot has been said about all the things fathers do wrong: that they are not committed enough to their children, that they are "toxically" male. But what do you do if you want to do it right as a father? To answer this question, Tillmann Prüfer interviews experts who approach the topic scientifically and recounts events from his own life as a father. For example, it is now recognised that children benefit greatly from having access to a father in their environment. It is now also known that fathers are by no means less suitable for providing emotional closeness to a child than mothers. Now all that remains is to put these good messages into practice.
Tillmann Prüfer, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of ZEITmagazin and father of four daughters himself, believes that it is time for a positive image of fatherhood. It's not just that fathers have never been so involved in their families: Good fathers have also never been needed as much as they are today!
