Radebeul celebrates 100 years of town charter for Radebeul and Kötzschenbroda in 2024

06.11.2023

Wait a minute, 100 years of town charter for Radebeul? The town has only existed in its current form since 1935! A look into the city encyclopaedia enlightens us: the former municipality of Radebeul, which had already incorporated the neighbouring village of Serkowitz in 1905, was granted city rights on 5 May 1924. The town's coat of arms, which is still valid today, was adopted by the town council in December 1924.
The large municipality of Kötzschenbroda, which by then had already incorporated the villages of Lindenau, Naundorf, Zitzschewig and Niederlößnitz, was also granted town charter in 1924.

A good reason to celebrate! We would like to celebrate this anniversary in 2024 with activities, events and exhibitions and take a look at the town's history to date. If you would like to get involved in the celebrations with your club, school, daycare centre, company or as a private individual, you are very welcome. Whether it's singing together, a small exhibition, an open day, a painting competition or a street party. Your ideas are in demand.
