Disposal of Christmas trees

The Zweckverband Abfallwirtschaft Oberes Elbtal (ZAOE) is once again offering free collection of unwanted Christmas trees at certain locations in 2019.

The cleaned trees or branches (bundled) must be deposited on the collection days by 6.00 a.m. at the latest, but no earlier than the day before and only at the designated collection points. When depositing, care must be taken to ensure that public road traffic is not obstructed or jeopardised.

Zitzschewig - 10/01/2019 - Cossebauder Straße, corner of Weinböhlaer Straße/Mittlere Johannisbergstraße

Christmas trees will also be accepted at the ZAOE recycling centres during regular opening hours (see 2019 waste calendar) throughout the month of January.

Important note: Please do not deposit any trees at the locations before or after the specified dates. These deposits are considered illegal waste disposal and may be subject to a fine. The public order office will be happy to receive any useful information.
