Construction project Mittlere Bergstraße/ Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße

17.10.2019

  • Hinweisschild Strassenbau

On Monday 21 October 2019, coordinated roadworks will begin on Mittlere Bergstraße and Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße in the section between Spitzgrundweg and the DVB railway crossing. The work is expected to last until the end of 2020.

The measure is due to the poor structural condition of the road and the partial lack of pavements. In addition to the fundamental expansion of the road pavement in asphalt construction, pavements with a concrete block paving surface will be created. The road drainage system will be renewed. As part of the road construction, Wasser Abwasser Betriebsgesellschaft Radebeul + Coswig GmbH is renewing and renovating the wastewater service pipes and constructing a combined sewer in the section between Spitzgrundweg and the Coswig city boundary. In addition, drinking water pipes, public lighting and low-voltage cables will be renewed throughout the construction area.

The construction work will be carried out in several phases and will require the complete closure of the road section. This year, road construction will begin in the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße section. Construction work on Mittlerer Bergstrasse is currently scheduled to begin next spring. Pedestrians should be able to walk on the road throughout the entire construction period.

The company EUROVIA Verkehrsbauunion from Radeberg has been commissioned to carry out the work. The construction costs for the entire project amount to approximately EUR 1,680,000.
